Dehydro-Tocotrienol-? Counteracts Oxidative-Stress-Induced Diabetes Complications in db/db Mice

چکیده

Hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, and adiposity are the main factors that cause inflammation in type 2 diabetes due to excessive ROS production, leading late complications. To counteract effects of increased free radical we searched for a compound with effective antioxidant properties can induce coenzyme Q biosynthesis without affecting normal cellular functions. Tocotrienols members vitamin E family, well-known as efficient antioxidants more than tocopherols. Deh-T3? is modified form naturally occurring tocotrienol-?. The synthesis this involves sequential modification geranylgeraniol. In study, investigated different experimental models was found possess multifaceted capacities. addition enhanced wound healing, deh-T3? improved kidney liver functions, reduced steatosis, heart recovery after ischemia insulin sensitivity adipose tissue mice model diabetes. exerts these positive several organs diabetic reducing non-fasting blood glucose levels, suggesting both its improvement mitochondrial function involved, which central

Arsenic and Oxidative Stress in Pentylenetetrazole-induced Seizures in Mice

Background and Objective: Chronic arsenic toxicity is a widespread problem; the role of brain oxidative stress has been suggested in the genesis of epilepsy and in the post-seizure neuronal death. However, studies investigating the effects of arsenic on seizure and related mechanisms are limited. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of prolonged exposure to sodium arsenite on oxi...

Tocotrienol Modulates the Expression of Proteins in Oxidative Stress-Induced Caenorhabditis Elegans

Objective: Oxidative stress that damages proteins result in aging and age related diseases. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of tocotrienol rich fraction (TRF) on the expression of proteins in oxidative stress-induced caenohabditis elegans (C.elegans) which has homologous genes to humans. Methods: The worms were treated with TRF prior to, after and continuously in separate group...

MTH1 counteracts oncogenic oxidative stress

Oncogenic oxidative stress is an intrinsic part of the transformation process and needs to be mitigated for optimal malignancy in the transformed cancer cells. The source of oncogenic reactive oxygen species (ROS) likely differs depending on the stage of transformation and can be, separately or collectively, the result of hyperactivated oncogenic signaling, inflammation, aberrant mitochondrial ...

Black Ginseng Extract Counteracts Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetes in Mice

Black ginseng, a new type of processed ginseng that has a unique ginsenoside profile, has been shown to display potent pharmacological activities in in vitro and in vivo models. Although red ginseng is considered beneficial for the prevention of diabetes, the relationship between black ginseng and diabetes is unknown. Therefore, this study was designed to evaluate the anti-diabetic potential of...
